A few weeks back I received an email from our COO, inquiring about the best way to learn more about Salesforce. He had mentioned that he went and searched the help docs but was overwhelmed with the results and where to get started. I replied with one word and one word only, any guesses? Yup, you got it, Trailhead!
Trailhead is the obvious place to go for admins and developers but what about the end users? Have no fear there are trails for that! Monday was our first internal Trailhead workshop and the following are the trails that I suggested to start their journey.
- Navigate the Salesforce Advantage – “Learn about the key differentiators that drive our success: our core values, innovative technology, and vibrant ecosystem.” One of my favorite things about Salesforce is their 1-1-1 Model, which you can learn more about on this trail. It was also pretty cool finding out that the CEO of Salesforce had given up the App Store trademark, want to know why? Of course you do! Learn about the advantages of moving to the cloud and and how Salesforce can help you be a good neighbor!
- Learn CRM Essentials – “Understand Salesforce and learn how to navigate, customize, and manage basic CRM features.” It can be easy to overlook the basics of CRM when training new users on the tool, often it’s assumed that the user is already familiar with them. Like how to personalize Salesforce or understand the relationship between Accounts and Contacts.
- Admin Beginner – “Start your #AwesomeAdmin journey by learning the basics of customizing Salesforce.” Knowledge is power! Knowing what the platform is capable of will open up a whole new world for the end user and allow them to ask for what they didn’t know they could have or would even be possible. This trail will build more upon the other 2 trails and dive deeper into the platform and data modeling.
Education is the catalyst for change!
